With a castle and a cathedral Rochester is a popular location which hosts a rich tapestry of historical locations and is famous due to Charles Dickens who lived just outside of the town and based many of his novels there. To pay homage to the great writer the Dickens festival is held annually in the town centre.

Though Rochester is famed for its historical backdrop the former city has much more to offer, the high street has a rich mix of small shops, boutiques, cafés and bars, there is always something of interest to do or see.

Properties in Rochester range from Georgian, Victorian, Edwardian and later housing to modern apartments of all sizes, many of which have views of the river.

One of the other reasons properties in Rochester are so popular is its transport links, the town has good rail connections to London, and is conveniently placed for the M2 and M20 motorways, and has good road and bus links to Maidstone.

Although there are numerous small to medium size developments scattered around the town, by far the largest will be Rochester Riverside, the regeneration of a site on the edge of Rochester on the River Medway, the aim of which is to create a sustainable, mixed-use community with around 1,800 homes, a hotel, primary school, community facilities and commerce.
