Chatham town centre is the main shopping area for the Medway Towns (Chatham, Gillingham and Rochester). The high street boasts a department store, and many famous names already. Chatham is an excellent commuter town with good rail connections to London Victoria, London Cannon Street, and the new high-speed service to London St Pancras, as well as towards Canterbury and the Kent coast. It has good road connections and is conveniently placed for the M2 and M20 motorways, and has good road and bus links to Maidstone.
